The Fresno County Democratic Central Committee has not endorsed any candidate in this race.

I’m humbly asking you.

Honestly, I’m about to ask you for $1. But first, let me explain why.

My grandma, Victoria, came to the United States from Mexico as an orphan when she was only 7 years old.

Even though she never made it past the fourth grade, she provided for her family by cleaning houses and working as a maid.

She showed my mom, Rosie, that dignity is earned through hard work and perseverance. And my mom became a strong Chicana activist, educator, and single mom to my twin brother Joaquin and me.

Now, my brother is a member of Congress. And I had the opportunity to serve in President Obama’s cabinet.

Look — for my family, America was a place where dreams could come true. I’m running for President to give others this chance.

That’s why I’m humbly asking you to pitch in $1 or more now to join this campaign. Be one of the 200 grassroots donors I need from California to secure my spot on the Democratic debate stage.

Unfortunately, our current leaders have allowed toxic voices to poison our national dialogue with hate and intolerance.

They sow hate and division amongst us.

I’m running for president to restore integrity in our politics.

That’s why I led the drive for reparations for descendants of slaves, even when everyone warned me not to.

That’s why I’ll combat climate change and preserve our planet for future generations.

That’s why I’ll show young people that college doesn’t have to result in crushing debt.

That’s why I’ll promise our seniors that they can count on a life of dignity.

That’s why I’ll ensure our veterans that they’ll be respected and honored when they come home.

That’s why I’ll work every day to ensure people of color that they are safe, and promise immigrants that they are welcome.

Look, I’ll be blunt here: No one person can solve all our problems. But in times of crisis, we must strive to come together as a nation rather than drifting further apart.

If we can look past what divides us, we can promise opportunity to every American. With your help we can create one nation, with one destiny.
