Enough is enough

The Fresno County Democratic Central Committee has not endorsed any candidate in this race.

As the nation reels from the deadliest mass shooting in modern US history, Californians and Americans are stepping up to honor the victims, survivors, and loved ones of the attack in Las Vegas with action on common sense gun laws.

Although no regulation can prevent all gun violence, states with stronger gun laws have lower rates of gun violence. That’s why, as a State Assemblymember and State Senator here in California, I’ve supported some of the strongest gun safety legislation in the nation, and we have one of the lowest rates of gun-related deaths in the country.

But gun safety laws are only as strong as the weakest link, and lax gun safety laws in other states put us all at risk.

Will you join me in calling on Congress to take immediate action on common sense gun safety reform like requiring background checks on all gun sales, banning assault weapons and high-capacity magazines, providing adequate funding for gun violence prevention research, and repealing gun industry immunity from lawsuits?
