La Opinión–the largest Spanish-language newspaper in the United States and second-most read newspaper in Los Angeles–announced their endorsement of my campaign.
Here’s what they’re saying: between the two candidates Tony has been the one who has dedicated his entire career to California’s most vulnerable children–children in youth detention centers, foster children, and coming down tough on truancy laws–all which primarily impact Latino and African-American children.
They feel that Tony is best equipped to lead Los Angeles school children who make up the second largest district in the nation.
La Opinión joins the Los Angeles Times and the Sacramento Bee as major newspapers that have endorsed his campaign.
Tony can only execute these newspaper’s shared vision for California’s students if he’s elected. The billionaires have now topped $13 million dollars in television ads against Tony’s campaign. We need your support. Join La Opinión in electing Tony Thurmond for State Superintendent of Public Instruction.
