One of my proudest moments was attending my mother’s college graduation, just two short years after my own. Like so many single mothers, she deferred her own dreams to give me a shot at achieving mine. Every Californian – regardless of age, income-level, geography, race or background, deserves an opportunity to improve the quality of their lives and that of their families. Increasing access to and the quality of public education is imperative to achieving that goal.
I am proud to have the support of State Superintendent of Public Education, Tony Thurmond, California’s champion of public schools and Superintendent for all students.
