Dear Friends and Supporters,
Thank you to my family, friends, community members and supporters for attending my Campaign Kick-Off in downtown Fresno. I was humbled to be joined by hundreds of supporters and your generous financial support as I announced my candidacy for Fresno City Council, District 3.
It was just four years ago that I accepted the responsibility of improving SCCCD and I am proud of the success we have achieved. Our graduation rates are up, we hired a great college president at Fresno City College (FCC), secured $485 million to expand and upgrade our programs across the district including expanding Fresno City College, building new college centers in the southwest and southeast of Fresno.
As I seek the support to represent my neighbors on the City Council, the transformational work at State Center that builds up District 3 will remain in my forefront. Our district continues the acquisition of property to accommodate our expansion at Fresno City College and our new college centers in the southwest and southeast of Fresno. Most recently, I was proud to join college and city leaders as we announced our purchase of the historic Guarantee building as the new headquarters for our 45,000 college students at SCCCD.
This is the same energy, focus, and collaboration for outcomes that will build up our District 3 neighborhoods.
It is this experience and success that I hope to bring to the City of Fresno, but I can’t win this race without your support. To date, your support has allowed us to share our vision for our City with thousands of District 3 residents.
