Join composer, musician and educator Benjamin Boone to get an inside look at the making of his award winning album with Pulitzer Prize winning poet Philip Levine, “The Poetry of Jazz.” Dr. Boone and pianist and collaborator David Aus will share select recordings from the album and offer a behind-the-scenes look at this unique collaboration, the making of the record, and the incredible roster of musicians who played a role in the project. The album was selected as one of the best albums of 2018 in a DOWNBEAT reader’s poll and received acclaim in Jazz Times, the Paris Review, All About Jazz, and National Public Radio’s All Things Considered.
