Reauthorize the Violence Against Women Act [Add your name]

An important update on this campaign:

We’ve got an important update here.

Yesterday, Democrats in the House — led by Nancy Pelosi — voted to renew the Violence Against Women Act.

This is a crucial step towards once again providing federal protections for domestic violence survivors across the nation. In addition, the legislation would strengthen legal protections for Native American, immigrant, and LGBTQ women, as well as make it more difficult for those convicted of crimes related to domestic violence to obtain firearms.

But to pass this critical legislation, we need to keep up the pressure on Republicans in the Senate, as well as make sure Trump signs it.

If you haven’t already, will you add your name to urge the Senate to reauthorize funding for the Violence Against Women Act?

BREAKING: House votes to reauthorize VAWA. Now tell the Senate to do the same

Democrats know that domestic abusers should not have access to firearms.

BREAKING: The House just voted to re-authorize the Violence Against Women Act. We need to keep up the momentum and tell the Senate to follow suit.

One of the most important and personal reasons I am proud to be a Democrat is because Democrats are the party that champions women. We as Democrats know that what some may refer to as “women’s issues” affect all of us in this country.

Democrats also know that domestic abusers should not have access to firearms.

This shouldn’t be remotely controversial. But it’s exactly what’s holding up reauthorization of the Violence Against Women Act in Congress — and the NRA is leading the charge.

Democrats in the House just voted to reauthorize the Violence Against Women Act — but the NRA is counting on their Republican allies in the Senate to stop the bill there. Speak out now and urge the Senate to reauthorize VAWA:

We found the GOP’s health care plan…

Democrats/Join us.

We’ve been hearing a LOT of noise from Donald Trump about Republicans’ plans on health care… but not much when it comes to specifics.

Nobody likes a secret — so, just for you, here’s an exclusive first look at Trump and the GOP’s new health care plan:

Nothing./
We can’t stress this enough: Donald Trump and Republicans have absolutely no health care plan, despite their ongoing pursuit to destroy the ACA. Their record shows they’re more concerned with taking away health care than making sure Americans have it.

Trump and Republicans are trying everything they can to obscure their terrible record on health care to voters and the media.

When it comes to health care, the contrast between Republicans and Democrats couldn’t be clearer.

Over the past two years, the Trump administration has been obsessed with trying to sabotage the Affordable Care Act however possible: Through the courts, shady regulations, and shoddy implementation. And don’t get us started on congressional Republicans, whose health care plans like the Graham-Cassidy bill would’ve eliminated insurance coverage for upwards of 21 million people.

Meanwhile, Democrats across the country are more committed than ever to ensuring every American can access the quality, affordable health care they deserve. Already this year, Democrats in Congress have introduced provisions to protect people living with pre-existing conditions, lower health care costs, and stop the Trump administration’s damage to the Affordable Care Act.

Thanks for taking action,

Tom

The GOP’s coming after our health care — again

Republicans are once again gearing up to take away health care from millions of Americans.

Republicans are once again gearing up to take away health care from millions of Americans.

Just this week, Trump called for the GOP to cruelly repeal Obamacare. That’s on top of his Justice Department refusing to defend any portion of the Affordable Care Act in court.

It’s unacceptable. The American people have shown, time and again, that we support Obamacare and health care for all — including in our historic Blue Wave last fall.

But apparently, Trump and the GOP haven’t learned (or they don’t care). So it’s up to us to defeat them even more resoundingly in 2020. Before our end-of-quarter deadline at midnight tomorrow, will you chip in $20.20 right now as we build towards Democratic victories next fall?

Basic humanity and decency are on the line

Reaching our party’s end-of-quarter fundraising goal couldn’t be more crucial to electing Democrats up and down the ballot in the months ahead.

Democrats/Join us.

Our country is facing a complete absence of moral leadership under Donald Trump — and he’s proud of it.

He’s proposed over a trillion dollars in cuts to essential programs like Medicare and Medicaid. He’s mocked the very existence of climate change while slashing environmental protections for our air and water. And let’s be clear, Jeff: The real “national emergency” on our border is that there are still immigrant children separated from their families.

As governor, I’ve already said that our great state of California will not be part of his political theatre. But ultimately, the only way we can end Donald Trump and Republicans’ stranglehold on our politics is by electing a Democrat to the Oval Office next year and winning seats nationwide.

Sunday at midnight, the Democratic Party faces an important milestone in our fight to defeat Trump and his Republican allies in 2020. Reaching our party’s end-of-quarter fundraising goal is crucial to staying on track to elect Democrats up and down the ballot. That’s why I’m coming to you with an important request:

Will you make a $10 contribution to the DNC before Sunday’s midnight deadline? Your donation will be put straight to work funding the critical party infrastructure necessary to support our party’s eventual nominee for president and Democrats across the country.
