To:

Dear LCR Members, Friends and Supporters,

The Latino Community Roundtable (LCR), an IRC 501(c)(4) social welfare organization, cordially invites you to attend our next monthly luncheon.

LCR will dedicate this month’s luncheon to the issue of getting everyone counted next year in April—THE UPCOMING US CENSUS OF 2020.  Although it may sound too early to discuss this coming census, it is important that our community becomes engaged and involved so that we have everyone counted when the time comes in less than one (1) year, April 1st, 2020.  This luncheon event will take place on Thursday, May 16th, 2019, from 11:30 a.m. to 1:00 p.m., at the Red Event Center, located at 921 8th Street, Modesto, CA.  (Please see attached flyer.)

This month’s distinguished speaker will be MS. GUADALUPE FERREYRA, PARTNERSHIP SPECIALIST, US CENSUS BUREAU. She will discuss the opportunities and serious challenges the US Census is facing in our under counted communities.  Our state loses federal monies if we don’t count everyone. Each person is worth about $2,000 in federal monies—imagine 10 years, totaling $20,000 lost per person not counted. Further, the census can influence the number of our congressional seats.
