Hi —
I wanted to make sure you got the news about our first gubernatorial forum!
This past weekend, Amanda sat down with John Myers, Sacramento Bureau Chief of the LA Times, for the gubernatorial forum at the California News Publishers Association annual summit. Invitations were sent out to all the major candidates for Governor.
Here’s some of what the press who was there had to say about Amanda:
A lot has happened since our last filing that I want to tell you about. Most notably I received 56% of the vote at the California Democratic Party convention, beating the appointed attorney general by 14 points! This was a major upset demonstrating the strength of our campaign throughout the state.
Recognizing both my progressive record and ability to win, numerous grassroots organizations have endorsed my candidacy, including California NOW, UNITE HERE!, the Stonewall Democratic Club, the Democratic Party of San Fernando Valley, the California Federation of Teachers, and the Consumer Federation of California.
We are running a compelling campaign that offers a bold vision for the office of Attorney General. We have the ability to activate grassroots support throughout the state and win this race, but only with your support! Please click here to make your contribution today.
In friendship,
Dave Jones

LARA WINS PIVOTAL ENDORSEMENT FROM ESTEEMED LA CITY ATTORNEY
Los Angeles City Attorney and Co-Founder of Prosecutors Against Gun Violence Mike Feuer Backs Senator Ricardo Lara for State Insurance Commissioner
LONG BEACH, CA– Bolstering his bid for State Insurance Commissioner of California, today State Senator Ricardo Lara scored a powerful endorsement from highly respected Los Angeles City Attorney Mike Feuer.
Feuer, twice elected citywide in Los Angeles as its City Attorney, previously served as Majority Policy Leader in the California State Assembly, and on the Los Angeles City Council, representing the 5th District. “California needs Senator Ricardo Lara as our next Insurance Commissioner. From working together in the Legislature to protect consumers to our collaborative efforts to stand up for California values as the Trump Administration sows division and distrust, Ricardo as been a consistent, strong voice for progress. He has the record, skills and vision we need in California’s Department of Insurance. I’m proud to endorse him.”
The announcement follows Senator Lara’s recent endorsement from the California Labor Federation, merely days ago. Also, Senator Lara recently released a new gripping digital video highlighting his vision of a California with healthcare for everyone.

*** No candidate for Lt. Governor has been endorsed by the CDP ***
I am so honored and humbled to announce that my campaign for Lt. Governor has earned the endorsement of Democratic Leader Nancy Pelosi!
As the first female Speaker of the House of Representatives, Leader Pelosi is the highest-ranking woman in the history of our country. She knows how to break glass ceilings with grit and grace. With her help, I hope to be the first woman ever elected Lt. Governor of California!
Her support means so much to me personally, and propels my campaign forward.
In a statement today, Leader Pelosi said:
I am pleased to endorse Eleni Kounalakis for Lt. Governor of California because she is a committed advocate for economic innovation and job creation, education, and health care. As a mother of two boys, Eleni served on ‘First 5 California’ – the Children and Families Commission – where she helped shape policies to improve the lives of children in our state.
Her service on the San Francisco Port Commission, California’s First Five Commission and International Trade and Investment Advisory Council, and as U.S. Ambassador to Hungary during President Obama’s Administration make her well-prepared to help lead our state with vision and experience.
Leader Pelosi joins Senator Kamala Harris, the California Federation of Teachers, Equality California, CA National Organization for Women, EMILY’s List, National Women’s Political Caucus, California Legislative Women’s Caucus, and dozens of congressional, state and local leaders in support of this campaign.
P.S. Thank you to everyone who has already given. Please consider doubling your contribution to help us continue to build momentum. (The maximum contribution is $7,300).
