Thurs 6/11 10:30 Zoom – City Council to hear #WeCan’tBreathe demands

City Council workshop to follow up with organizers of the BIG, BIG #WeCan’tBreathe demonstration in downtown Fresno on Sun, May 31.  
The regular City Council meeting begins at 9 am and you can join early. The time of the workshop is approximate, so use the info below to join a little early. 
Thursday, June 11, approximately 10:30 A.M.(Zoom meeting open to public) There will a City Council workshop with a presentation by the Fresno State National Association for the Advancement of Colored People (NAACP) 17Ai Unit to discuss their demands presented during their recent protest at Fresno City Hall. 
Here’s how to join the meeting by Zoom and phone to listen and support.  

1.           Join Online Via Zoom
a.           Please use this URL https://zoom.us/j/91520864216 If you wish to address the Council during the public comment portion of the agenda, click on the icon labeled “Participants” at the bottom center of your PC or MAC screen. At the bottom of the window on the right side of the screen, click on the icon labeled “Raise Hand.” You will be added to the queue.
2.           Join by Phone
a.           Dial 1-669-900-9128
b.           Enter Meeting ID: 915 2086 4216
c.           If you wish to address the Council during the public comment portion of the agenda, press *9 and the City Clerk’s office will select you from the meeting queue.
3.           Submit Comments Electronically
a.           You can also email your comments at clerk@fresno.gov  to have your comments read during the meeting. These comments will be added into the official workshop minutes. Please include the agenda date & item number you wish to speak on in the subject line of your email.

Demonstration in Solidarity With#BlackLivesMatter

The Fresno County Public Defender’s Office, in conjunction with Public Defender’s Offices across the State, is coordinating a demonstration in solidarity with the #BlackLivesMatter movement to stand against systemic inequality and the disproportionate incidents of police brutality against black bodies. 

We invite all community organizations and residents of the County who want to stand, kneel, and march in solidarity to join us and to collectively say that #EnoughIsEnough!

Masks, social distancing, non-violence and peace are required.
