Today I am very proud to share some exciting news: Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez is endorsing our campaign for president.
In a few hours, she and I will attend a rally in Queensbridge Park in New York City, where we will speak with thousands of supporters about how our campaign is the one that can win this election and defeat Donald Trump.
But this campaign is not about me, or any other individual. It is about all of us building a movement to transform our country.
So before today’s rally, I would like to ask for your help to make this a very big day — one that will send an unmistakable message about the strength of our campaign.
Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez is one of the great political phenomenons in modern American history, and I have been deeply impressed by her ability to inspire people all over this country — especially young people and people of color — in the struggle for economic justice, social justice, racial justice, and environmental justice.
She is an inspiration to people not only in New York but all across this country, and I am very proud that she is now a part of our campaign.
Michael, what we are doing together is taking on a powerful corporate elite that has been at war with the working class of this country for the last 45 years. That’s why this campaign is not just about winning an election — it is about transforming our country once we are in the White House.
We will grant health care to all of our people as a human right.
We will address the global crisis of climate change.
We will make public colleges and universities tuition free, and cancel all student debt.
We will raise the minimum wage to a living wage of $15 an hour.
We will end the influence of corporate money on our political system and government.
There is an incredible amount of work ahead of us, and I cannot do it alone. So I need to ask you directly:
Our political revolution is about bringing people into the political process to fight for an agenda that works for working people and not just those at the top.
