The 120,000 member strong California Federation of Teachers (CFT) has strongly endorsed Insurance Commissioner Dave Jones for California Attorney General.
“Dave Jones is a passionate champion for California schools and an effective advocate for social justice,” stated CFT President Joshua Pechthalt. “As Attorney General we can count on Dave Jones to lead the fight against the egregious policies of Donald Trump and Betsy DeVos – policies which would devastate our local schools. As a Legal Aid attorney, City Council member, Assemblymember and now as Insurance Commissioner, Dave Jones has proven himself one of California’s most indefatigable and creative progressive leaders. We are proud to support Dave Jones for Attorney General.”
CFT, with 145 locals throughout the state, represents educational employees from Head Start to the University of California, including teachers and professors at many public school and community college districts. As an affiliate of the AFL-CIO, CFT is an important and respected voice in the the state’s labor movement as well.

Earlier, Dave Jones was endorsed by 35,000 member strong United Teachers Los Angeles (UTLA) which is, by far, California’s largest local teacher’s union.
