Back Caballero for Senate
MERCED – The Fresno Bee and Modesto Bee have endorsed Assemblymember Anna Caballero (D-Salinas) for election to the open 12th District seat in the state Senate.
Noting that Caballero is a moderate Democrat, the editorial which ran in the two newspapers said, “Her experience in the legislature could make her more independent. She came to the Valley to represent the forgotten. It’s the same fight.”
Caballero said she appreciated the endorsement from the two largest daily newspapers in the 12th Senate District. “The endorsement of our campaign by these two newspapers ratifies the work we are doing to reach out to voters throughout the district to discuss the issues and find solutions which can serve to move the 12th Senate District forward,” Caballero stated.
In addition to the Fresno and Modesto newspapers, other major endorsements Caballero has received include the California Association of Highway Patrolman; California District Attorneys Association; California Health + Advocates; California Nurses Association; California Professional Firefighters; California Teachers Association; and, Peace Officers Research Association of California, known as PORAC.
The sprawling 12th Senate District is made up of some or all of six counties including all of Merced and San Benito counties and portions of Fresno, Madera, Monterey and Stanislaus counties.
