California Young Democrats (CYD), One of CA’s Largest Youth Organizations, Endorses Esmeralda Soria for Congress
FRESNO, C.A. – Today, the Esmeralda Soria for Congress campaign continues to show momentum and announces Soria has earned an endorsement from the California Young Democrats (CYD), one of California’s largest youth organizations.
“We are proud to endorse Esmeralda Soria for Congress,” says the Fresno chapter of CYD. “It’s time for a new generation of leaders! As a local chapter of CYD, we know Councilmember Soria well and know she will be the strong progressive voice we need in Congress.”
The California Young Democrats is the official youth arm of the California Democratic Party (CADEM), comprised of progressive Democrats ages 13-35. The California Young Democrats are committed to creating a bloc of young voters who will elect Democrats for generations.
“It means so much to me to have the endorsement of the California Young Democrats,” says Esmeralda Soria. “I am running for Congress to not only take on the challenges we face today, but to make sure that we build a brighter future for generations to come. I have been inspired by young people – members of CYD – who are organizing and demanding action on important issues such as addressing climate change and gun violence. They know I hear them, stand with them and will take action when I am in Congress.”
This endorsement comes just weeks after Soria successfully blocked her opponent from receiving the Democratic Party endorsement, an unprecedented and historic move. Soria’s campaign has received a wide breadth of support, including endorsements from California State Senator Anna Caballero, Merced Supervisor Rodrigo Espinosa, Madera Councilmember Santos Garcia and others.
