Those are the words of Trump advisor Justin Clark to a group of prominent Wisconsin Republican donors (as reported by the Associated Press). As offensive and alarming as his remarks are, they simply confirm the obvious: Republicans have been using voter suppression and intimidation tactics for decades to tilt elections in their favor.
While the battleground states may be their primary targets, make no mistake that voter suppression anywhere impacts voters everywhere — and is a fundamental threat to our democracy. And with Trump on the ropes after being impeached for inviting foreign Interference in 2020, we know he’ll try anything to win reelection.
