Legendary Labor Union’s Support Reflects Eric Bauman’s Far-Reaching Coalition Among Working Families
LOS ANGELES, CA — Serving as another indication of his robust support from working people, today California Democratic Party Vice Chair Eric C. Bauman netted a crucial endorsement from the United Farm Workers in his campaign for Chair of the California Democratic Party.

Founded in 1962 by Cesar Chavez, the United Farm Workers of America is the nation’s first successful and largest farm workers union currently active in 10 states. As a Democratic Party leader, Bauman helped the UFW fight for the farmworker overtime bill and has stood with the members of the United Farm Workers in the battle to ensure that healthcare is available to farmworkers.

In announcing their endorsement, United Farm Workers President Arturo S. Rodriguez released the following statement:

“Eric Bauman knows that to win “justice for all” we have to fight–  fight for workers, fight for immigrants, fight for those too often left out. He is the right leader to make sure we win today’s and tomorrow’s fights.”
Bauman has been endorsed by scores of progressive leaders and organizations, including: Former  U.S. Labor Secretary and Los Angeles County Supervisor Hilda L. Solis; SEIU Local 1000 President Yvonne Walker; the California Faculty Association; the California Professional Firefighters; UNITE HERE, AFL-CIO; AFSCME/United Nurses Associations of California; the National Union of Healthcare Workers; the State Building and Construction Trades Council of California; Southwest Regional Council of Carpenters; and the United Food and Commercial Workers (UFCW) Locals 648, 770, and 324, and among others.

Eric C. Bauman is the Vice Chair of the California Democratic Party and Chairof the Los Angeles County Democratic Party, the largest local Democratic Party in the nation. His campaign for CDP Chair is building a wide-ranging coalition of support that represents every corner of our state and all of its great diversity.
