Thursday, I was joined by Secretary Jenny Bach, Controller Dan Weitzman, and other Party staff on a moving visit to our nation’s border.
There, as you know, Trump has manufactured a fake crisis to justify his deadly, harmful, and frankly racist wall. Migrants there — many who are trying to apply for asylum, which they have the legal right to do — are being brutalized by U.S. Customs and Border Protection.
Many of these migrants have left their homes, traveled hundreds or even thousands of miles in search of a better life, only to be turned away or attacked.
It’s wrong. Fortunately, there are organizations on both sides of the border supporting refugee families with shelter, food, warm showers, and more.
As Democrats, we must take action to end Trump’s manufactured crisis and support the migrants being demonized by the GOP under Trump’s leadership.
Here are two ways you can join us and take action, right now:
1. Consider making a donation to Jewish Family Service — one of the organizations offering shelter and support to the migrants at our border.
2. Take a moment to share our posts on our trip to the border as a Party, to spread the word about Trump’s manufactured crisis and the migrants who are being caught in the crossfire.
