In January, I proudly shared with you the news that Trump disbanded his sham voter fraud commission. It was an example of the results we can achieve when we stand united and resist.
I’m happy to report another win — a solid win for election security — and it wouldn’t have been possible without our unity and resistance.
On Friday, Trump signed the $3.1 billion omnibus spending bill, despite his veto threats.
We successfully pressed Congress to include $380 million in Help America Vote Act (HAVA) funds in the bill, overcoming Trump’s continued denial of Russian interference in the 2016 elections. These HAVA funds will now be distributed to states to fund the replacement and upgrading of aging voting systems.
While the need is greater than the amount approved last week, this investment is helpful and timely as states are preparing for the 2018 elections. And it wouldn’t have been possible without you. Our resistance is working.
But our work isn’t done. And I still need your help.
