Delaine Eastin for Governor 2018

We are thrilled to announce Delaine has earned the endorsement of the California Conference of Machinists.

In announcing their endorsement of Delaine Eastin, Tom Brandon, Executive Secretary – Treasurer of the California Conference of Machinists released the following statement:

“Delaine Eastin earned an enthusiastic endorsement from the California Conference of Machinists because she has a deep understanding of the work we do, the education it requires and the need to invest more in training the next generation of machinists and skilled tradespeople in order to rebuild California’s crumbling infrastructure while growing middle-class jobs.

Throughout her decades of private and public service, Delaine’s values have never wavered. Our workers considered her a principled and skilled manager in the private sector. In the Assembly, Delaine worked with us to streamline hospital construction, speed up road construction projects  and crackdown on unlicensed contractors. As State Superintendent she valued our expertise and included us and other trades to help develop statewide math standards and requirements for career and technical education.

As governor, Delaine’s plans to invest in education, including career and technical training, housing, healthcare and infrastructure will alleviate the stress currently placed on working families throughout California and return our state to its position as the best place in the country to live and work.”

Today’s endorsement comes on the heels of recent endorsements from a wide spectrum of democratic organizations including San Francisco’s largest Democratic Club —  the Harvey Milk LGBT Club, San Diego Progressive Democratic Club, East Bay Women’s Political Alliance, FUN (Fremont-Union City-Newark) Progressives, San Francisco’s Richmond Democratic Club and Santa Cruz County for Bernie Sanders.

These endorsements showcase Eastin’s continuing trend of a campaign powered by a growing coalition of working families, women’s groups, progressives, and students up and down the state. Delaine is committed to fighting for the advancement of California’s struggling working- and middle-class by tackling issues surrounding education, affordable housing, healthcare, and environmental justice.

If you have not contributed this week, we hope you will make a contribution here today to congratulate Delaine.
