CDP

Fellow Democrat,

We’d like to take a moment to introduce you to the senior staff we have brought in to manage the daily operations of the California Democratic Party.

We have chosen a team that will excel at helping take the California Democratic Party to the next level. Each of these individuals has been a longtime activist in our Party, and has worked in some of the most progressive and effective institutions in California politics and state government.

We’d also like to announce that, with the impending departure of longtime veteran senior staff member Chris Masami Myers, we have made changes to our overall staffing structure. Instead of the Executive Director model that has been used in the past, we have flattened out the organizational structure and adopted a model where Party operations are carried out in four separate divisions: Compliance & Accounting, Communications, Operations, and Political.

Each division will have a Director who reports to the Chair and Statewide Officers. We will also be retaining the position of Senior Advisor, as well as creating the position of Senior Strategist. Both of these individuals will also report to the Chair and Statewide Officers.

We believe this management structure will complement and amplify the shared governance model of decision making that we have adopted.

As always, we welcome any feedback and suggestions on how the officers of the CDP can better serve our Party.

Democratically Yours,

Eric C. Bauman, Chair
Alex Gallardo-Rooker, Vice Chair
Daraka Larimore-Hall, Vice Chair
Jenny Bach, Secretary
Dan Weitzman, Controller
