All across the country, millions of Americans are rising up alongside the students from Stoneman Douglas High School to demand action on gun violence.
I met with some of them this morning and I saw courage, determination, and solidarity in the faces of those who are participating in the march today.
The students from Stoneman Douglas have turned their mourning into a movement — and I genuinely believe they have changed the conversation about gun violence in America.
From here, we need to look to our youth for inspiration. They are teaching all of us so many lessons on activism and action in the face of tragedy. I wish Congressional leaders had their courage and determination to stand up to the gun lobby.
This was an essential moment in the fight to end gun violence, but there is a long road ahead — and the gun lobby will not give in without a fight. That’s why I’m asking:
Can you split a donation between my campaign and Gabby Gifford’s organization devoted to ending the gun violence epidemic? Your support will make a significant difference in countering the corrupting influence of the gun lobby in Washington:
Or, contribute an amount that’s meaningful to you.
Our youth have always been our future. Then, now, and forever. And because their optimism is contagious, I believe these kids will be the generation that ends the gun violence epidemic.
Thanks for everything you do,
Kamala Harris
U.S. Senator, California
