Friend,
Right now, some states are launching all-out attacks on women’s reproductive rights.
Just this week, Georgia passed a “fetal heartbeat” law that bans abortions after only six weeks — before many women even know they’re pregnant. And Republicans in Alabama tried to sneak through one of the most extreme anti-choice bills the country has ever seen, which would effectively ban abortions in the state and criminalize doctors who perform them.
These bills have been championed, mostly, by men. Imagine never going through the pain of a miscarriage or facing the decision of whether to have an abortion and still feeling like you have the right to make decisions about a woman’s body and access to health care.
None of us can remain silent at a moment like this. We’ve got to protect women’s health care and defend Roe v. Wade. Please add your name and say you’ll fight back against efforts to dramatically roll back abortion access.
Bills like these that aim to punish women and their doctors are gaining traction because conservatives think this is their chance to undo decades-old progress.
But Roe v. Wade is the law of the land, and I think it’s time we codify it through state legislatures across the country so that nobody, no matter who’s appointed to the Supreme Court, will ever be able to infringe on that fundamental right.
I promise to do everything in my power to make sure that a woman’s body is under the purview of that woman — not a bunch of politicians in Washington or a state capitol. I’ve fought my whole career to protect choice, and I’m not stopping now. We must come together to stop the dangerous, far-right movement to erode women’s rights and access to health care.
Thanks,
Cory
