Imagine if Karla, a single mom in Eureka, visits a clinic and the doctor can’t give her vital medical information.
Or Jai, a young adult in San Bernardino, can no longer receive birth control at a Planned Parenthood health center.
And what about if Sofía, who was just laid off in Sacramento, has a cancer screening canceled because her clinic lost funding.
I changed their names to protect their privacy, but Karla, Jai, and Sofía are real patients who rely on real services. If Trump succeeds in implementing his Title X gag rule, these possible challenges could become a reality for them and potentially more than a million Californians.

Tomorrow my team will be in federal court to argue against Trump’s attorneys. As we’ve already made clear: we’ll ask the judge to block the White House from implementing their gag rule while our lawsuit works its way through the courts.
If the court agrees with us, 350 health centers will be able to continue operating without interruption in California. If our request is denied, Trump’s gag rule will be implemented, and scenes like the ones listed earlier could begin to play out.
