Today is the 54th Anniversary of the March on Washington for Jobs and Freedom, where Martin Luther King Jr. delivered his “I Have a Dream” speech and changed the course of American history.

Hundreds of thousands of people stood with him in Washington–with millions more watching in solidarity around the country and the world–to demand real and meaningful change.

The 10 Demands of the March on Washington for Jobs and Freedom are as powerful, and in many cases relevant, today as they were in 1963, and they are a reminder that there’s so much work yet to do. It’s up to each of us to resist any attempt to roll back the progress we have made, and keep marching towards a future where every person has dignity, equality and opportunity.
