The Fresno County Democratic Central Committee has not endorsed any candidate in this race.
I am the kind of Democrat who speaks truth to power. Whether it’s been as a Party leader, a grassroots activist, a trade unionist or a community college instructor, my life’s work has been to empower ordinary people to do extraordinary things. The promise of the Democratic Party is that it can provide a platform for the marginalized, the underrepresented and the disenfranchised to organize and work together to democratize our economy, government and society. That’s the vision of the Party I’ve worked for at the local and State levels for over a decade.
Through it all, I’ve never wavered in my commitment for fundamental social change- even when this means saying things that some leaders are afraid to hear. It has earned me some criticism, but also the respect of hard-working grassroots activists, our allies in labor and social movements, as well as elected officials who understand that a strong voice from the Party’s base is crucial to winning policy victories.
We have a lot of work ahead of us- work that will require both unity and bravery. I’m asking for your vote at Convention to be part of a leadership team that will keep us focused on what matters: delivering real change for the people of California.
