FRESNO, C.A. – The Soria for Congress campaign announces ten endorsements from education leaders from across the Central Valley, highlighting her strong commitment to ensuring a quality, affordable education for all kids. Soria garnered the support from education leaders because of her commitment to ensuring that all kids have access to a quality, affordable education. Soria announces endorsements from:

Central Unified Trustee Terry Cox
Central Unified Trustee Yesenia Zamora

“Esmeralda Soria has always been a champion for our students,” says Fresno County of Education Trustee Kimberly Tapscott-Munson. “I’m proud to support her because I know she will fight for college affordability, better schools and the safety of our children.”
Merced City School District Trustee Miguel Lopez says, “I believe Esmeralda Soria brings a perspective that’s reflective of our community here in Merced County. We need someone in Congress who will fight for all our students, especially our socio-economically disadvantaged students across the Valley.”
“Education is the ‘great equalizer’ and ensures access to opportunities for socio-economic advancement. I am committed to ensuring that all kids have access to a quality education,” says Esmeralda Soria. “As one of the first in my family to go to college, I know how an education can change the direction of a person’s life. I also know firsthand the struggles that many Americans are facing in the challenge to find an affordable education. Students are graduating with massive student debt across our country, which I have experienced myself while obtaining my higher education. I also see the struggle every day as a Professor at Fresno City College amongst my students.”
Recognizing that Congress has failed to address educational challenges, Soria is running on a platform of increasing investment in universal pre-k and the public education system, as well as fighting for college affordability through debt forgiveness program, accessibility of low-interest student loans and ending the practice of predatory lenders taking advantage of our students.
