The country just heard from Robert Mueller — what must happen now is clear:
Congress has a legal and moral obligation to begin impeachment proceedings immediately.
Mueller laid it out as plainly as he could, saying, “If we had had confidence that the President did not commit a crime, we would have said so… Charging the president with a crime is not an option we could consider.”
That’s because the Constitution leaves that responsibility to Congress — and I’m calling on my colleagues in the House to fulfill the oath we each took.
I’ve been asking for his testimony — today Mueller made his view clear. This Administration has continued to stonewall Congress’s oversight of this matter. Beginning impeachment proceedings is the only path forward.
