We have been working diligently to bring important resources to District 1 as we respond to the impacts of COVID-19.
Here are some highlights from the month of July 2020:
HELD THREE COVID-19 NO-COST TESTING EVENTS – So far, we have held three COVID-19 no-cost testing events in District 1 at the Sikh Institute of Fresno and Lion’s park, where over 800 people were tested. We will be scheduling more COVID-19 testing events in District 1 in the very near future.
SENT LETTERS TO 2,500 DISTRICT 1 BUSINESSES – Last week, we also sent letters to over 2,500 District 1 businesses providing important COVID-19 updates and available resources in the City of Fresno. We have received several requests for face masks and will be delivering to those businesses this week.
HELD 2 VIRTUAL COFFEE & CONVERSATION MEETINGS – Last month, we also held two virtual Coffee & Conversation meetings to provide COVID-19 updates to our residents and answer questions both in English and Spanish.
MET WITH COUNTY OF FRESNO TO DISCUSS COVID-19 IMPACTS – We are happy to report that we (city officials) met with the County of Fresno on July 28th to discuss COVID-19 impacts and CARES Act funding allocation strategy. This was a great start to very important conversations on how to better serve our community and make much needed investments related to COVID-19.

Hemos estado trabajando diligentemente para traer recursos importantes al Distrito 1 mientras respondemos a los impactos de COVID-19.
Estos son algunos eventos destacados del mes de julio 2020:
LLEVAMOS A CABO TRES EVENTOS DE PRUEBAS COVID-19 SIN COSTO – Hasta ahora, hemos realizado tres eventos sin costo de pruebas COVID-19 en el Distrito 1 en el Instituto Sikh de Fresno y el parque Lion’s, donde se realizaron pruebas a más de 800 personas. Programaremos más eventos de pruebas COVID-19 en el Distrito 1 muy pronto.
ENVIAMOS CARTAS A 2,500 NEGOCIOS DEL DISTRITO 1 – La semana pasada, también enviamos cartas a más de 2,500 negocios del Distrito 1 proporcionando actualizaciones importantes de COVID-19 y recursos disponibles en la Ciudad de Fresno. Hemos recibido varias solicitudes de máscaras faciales y las entregaremos a esas empresas esta semana.
REALIZAMOS 2 REUNIONES VIRTUALES DE CAFÉ Y CONVERSACIÓN – El mes pasado, también realizamos dos reuniones virtuales de Café y Conversación para proporcionar actualizaciones de COVID-19 a nuestros residentes y responder preguntas en inglés y español.
NOS REUNIMOS CON EL CONDADO DE FRESNO PARA DISCUTIR LOS IMPACTOS DE COVID-19 – Nos complace informar que nosotros (funcionarios de la ciudad) nos reunimos con el Condado de Fresno el 28 de julio para discutir los impactos de COVID-19 y la estrategia de asignación de fondos de la Ley CARES. Este fue un gran comienzo para conversaciones muy importantes sobre cómo servir mejor a nuestra comunidad y hacer inversiones muy necesarias relacionadas con COVID-19.
