The Fresno County Democratic Central Committee has not endorsed any candidate in this race.
Since launching our campaign, we have knocked on thousands of doors and registered hundreds of new voters. We’ve earned national endorsements, and we’ve grown our team. Slowly and surely, we are finding that our message is resonating with voters in The Valley.
The answer to why I am running is simple – people deserve a representative who cares about them. For years, this district has remained one of the poorest regions in the country with poverty levels reaching upwards of 30 percent.
Right now, we are the only campaign running on a progressive economic platform that will bring quality healthcare, good-paying jobs, and economic opportunity to California’s 16th district.
As the next representative, I will do all I can to fight for economic justice, change the devastating effects of climate change, and provide a pathway out of poverty for all Americans. That means introducing fresh ideas such as Medicare for All, debt-free college, and universal Pre-K, just to name a few.
Our campaign knows the road ahead will not be easy, but the work of ensuring our democracy works for all of us is hard. We will continue to visit neighborhoods no other candidate has stepped foot in and talk to voters that have been ignored for far too long.
We cannot do this alone. It is going to take each of us doing our small part to fuel our grassroots campaign.
