Last night, dozens of people lost their lives in Las Vegas in another horrifying mass shooting incident. No doubt, this attack will dominate our political discourse over the coming weeks, but at the moment the most important fact is this: emergency rooms, trauma centers and intensive care units in Las Vegas are overwhelmed with the victims, and we still don’t know the full picture of how many people were killed and wounded.
If you are eligible, please consider making a blood donation today. Your donation could very well save the life of someone wounded in the shooting. If you can’t make a blood donation, please consider making a donation to the Southern Nevada American Red Cross, who already have relief workers on the ground providing support to the victims—everything from a hot meal to trauma counselors.
And of course, please keep the victims and their families in your thoughts and prayers. They are experiencing a loss no person should ever have to endure, and we must stand with them in this extraordinarly painful and difficult moment.
