The Fresno County Democratic Central Committee has not endorsed any candidate in this race.
As Democrats, empowering women and fighting for equal rights are essential components of our core beliefs. That’s why I am truly honored to announce that I have been named the California State Director for the National Foundation for Women Legislators. For nearly 80 years, the Foundation has fought to empower and inspire women to become thought leaders who have not only shaped our history, but continue to shape our future. I believe participation and representation in the political process is essential to achieving equal rights for women, and as a woman of color, I am proud to lead this important organization.
Here I am attending the Foundation’s “Bringing Women Leaders Together” leadership summit in Washington, D.C. I look forward to continuing to build up women leaders throughout our state and nation!
It was so inspiring to celebrate Women’s Equality Month at the California Democratic Party Executive Board meeting in August.
There are so many women in this photo who have been trailblazers and who continue to be leaders for women’s equality. (That’s me standing next to the cake, which I brought to the Women’s Caucus meeting at E-Board).
I am also excited to announce that the National Women’s Political Caucus California Board has endorsed me for State Treasurer. Mentoring and empowering women to increase their participation in the political process and standing for the issues that impact women and families is critical not only to achieving equality for women, but also to ensuring we create a better society for our fellow Californians and all Americans.
As a candidate for State Treasurer, I am truly humbled to be endorsed by progressive, Democratic women who have put their faith in my candidacy — women like U.S. Senator Kamala Harris, Senators Toni Atkins and Cathleen Galgiani, Assemblymembers Cristina Garcia and Susan Eggman, Alex Rooker, CDP Vice Chair*, and Christine Pelosi, CDP Women’s Caucus Chair*.
I am working hard, campaigning throughout California to win my campaign for Treasurer. I’m visiting Democratic Clubs and Central Committees from Humboldt and Mendocino Counties to Ventura, Los Angeles, San Diego, and everywhere in between.
Since California became a state in the 1850s, only ten women have been elected to statewide office. With your help, I intend to change that. I hope you will visit my website and consider endorsing me today.
