The Fresno County Democratic Central Committee has not endorsed any candidate in this race.
Amy McGrath.
A retired fighter pilot. A Marine. A Kentuckian. And now she’s running to replace Mitch McConnell in the halls of the Senate.
At the age of 13, Amy dreamed of becoming a fighter pilot, but women were barred from serving in combat roles in our military. So she wrote a letter to her senator asking for his help to change that law. She never heard back from Mitch McConnell.
She accomplished what she set out to do anyway — serving 20 years in the Marines where she flew 89 combat missions in Iraq and Afghanistan before retiring and moving back home to Kentucky to raise her family.
Mitch McConnell has engaged in toxic partisan politics as the leader of Senate Republicans. He shut down the government multiple times and helped engineer the theft of a Supreme Court seat. He described blocking President Obama’s judicial nominees as one of his top accomplishments. And he’s been Trump’s top ally in the Senate, helping drive the calls for cuts to Medicare and Social Security and repeatedly attempting to repeal the Affordable Care Act. We desperately need new leadership in Congress.
But taking on the majority leader isn’t an easy task. Amy’s going up against super PACs, deep-pocketed ultra-right donors, and dark money groups who will fight hard to keep Mitch in power. I know Amy McGrath can and will be the next senator of Kentucky. But she needs our help.
