A year ago, I had the honor of speaking at the Los Angeles Women’s March and addressing a gathering of 750,000 people from throughout Los Angeles, while walking alongside the most important woman in my life, my wife, Angela.
This year, we’re going to do it again because Trump has continuously attacked our communities, our families, our friends, our neighbors, and our values. He’s targeting our civil and voting rights, spewing racist rhetoric, pushing racist anti-immigrant policies and raising taxes on hardworking families.
We must keep marching on…not just today, but into the 2018 midterm elections and into the 2020 Presidential election.

Michael, one big personal reason we marched last year — and will march again this year — is because we want our three sons to know that we were there. We want our sons to understand that women’s rights are human rights and that we all need to do our part, because when we fight together for basic human rights, we win.
Last year, as we marched, we felt optimistic about our future. Though this past year was difficult, we did see a lot of victories, from major democratic gains in the Virginia House of Delegates to the historic win of Senator Doug Jones in Alabama.
We must keep marching. We must keep resisting.
