More and more cities — including right here in the Central Valley — are ordering shut downs of restaurants and non-essential businesses in order to slow the coronavirus. That’s creating a major financial strain on working families who now suddenly may not be able to afford rent.

Our necessary response to the coronavirus is also hurting small businesses that have been forced to shut down.

As we work to mitigate this crisis, it’s so important that we prevent working families and small businesses from needless suffering. That’s why I’m joining the nationwide push to put an end to evictions and foreclosures during this pandemic.

Will you add your name to my petition to protect working families and small business owners across the country?

I know this is a difficult time for many. And as important as it is that the American people listen to the CDC’s recommendations of social distancing and good hygiene practices — it’s just as critical that Congress do its part to alleviate the economic fallout of this crisis.

I’m proud to see Congress come together to get work done on guaranteed paid sick leave and in providing relief to those in need. But we need to do much more:

Join me: sign the petition calling on Congress to pass legislation to pause all foreclosures and evictions during this pandemic >>

All my very best,
