Hours ago, I became one of the few candidates to officially secure my spot in the Presidential debates.

No one thought we could get here, but you helped me prove them all wrong.
 
 
I was never supposed to be a frontrunner in this presidential race.

I was never supposed to make the cut for the debate stage.

People who grew up where I did — who were raised by single moms like I was — who come from a family of immigrants like I do — we were told to set our sights lower.

But you just helped me make history and prove them all wrong.

Because I just became one of the handful of candidates to reach the 65,000-donor requirement to officially secure my spot in the Presidential Debates.
 
Serving in President Obama’s cabinet was one of the greatest honors of my life.

We fought for justice. We worked to improve lives. We strived to make this a country where people could live with dignity.

But watching Trump rip our progress to shreds has been the most infuriating spectacle I’ve ever witnessed.

I can’t wait to get onto that debate stage and defend President Obama and the progress we made — and it’s all because of you.

So I’m humbly asking: Can I count on you to add your name before midnight and show your support for my campaign? No one thought we could make the cut, but we just showed the world what a real grassroots movement looks like. >>

When the establishment said I was a longshot…

When the press didn’t give me a fair shot…

When the far-right said no one like me could ever be President…

You believed in me, and you had my back. You have no idea how much that means.
