Kamala Harris

Hurricane Irma made landfall in Florida over the weekend — displacing more than 6.3 million Americans and causing at least three million people to lose power.

Once again, it’s a devastating natural disaster we cannot ignore.

That’s why I’m asking you to make a donation to support local nonprofits in Florida that are helping the victims of Hurricane Irma.

Anything you can spare — from $5 to $25 — can make a real difference in the lives of so many people:

DONATE TO SUPPORT HURRICANE IRMA VICTIMS

I was incredibly proud of our team last month during the flooding in Texas when you donated more than $150,000 to victims within 48 hours.

It’s a testament to the spirit of the American people.

That when times are tough and disaster strikes, we put aside our petty politics and stand with our friends, family, and neighbors.

Not a single one of you asked whether the people we helped were Republican or Democrat. You didn’t ask who they voted for or where they stood on this issue or that issue. You did something that matters. You helped.

This is a moment in time that is calling for us to do it again as millions of people face another catastrophic weather event. So please donate today to support local nonprofits helping victims in Florida:

DONATE TO SUPPORT HURRICANE IRMA VICTIMS

Let’s take away from these moments — as we watch the devastation on our TVs and read courageous stories on our social media feeds — to remind ourselves who we are as a country.

And please keep the people of Florida and surrounding areas in your thoughts, prayers, and actions.

Thanks for all you do.

Kamala Harris
U.S. Senator, California
