The numbers don’t lie. The House GOP bill is a disaster.
The non-partisan Congressional Budget Office (CBO) released its analysis.
In addition to 24 Million Americans losing healthcare, the House GOP bill increases prices for older Americans and ordinary working people. Health insurers will be allowed to charge older Americans five times more than anybody else.
The House GOP bill reduces the amount of federal premium assistance provided to most families and individuals buying health insurance through exchange marketplaces, making their health insurance unaffordable. And it eliminates the Medicaid program for single poor adults while reducing the amount of federal assistance for families with children, older Americans and the disabled under Medicaid.
And if this was not bad enough, it confers $600 Billion in tax breaks to the wealthiest among us. And cuts funding for Planned Parenthood and eliminates other important benefits. Simply put, the House GOP bill breaks every promise made by the President and GOP leadership to provide quality health insurance to everyone.
