Dear Fresno Resident,
The City of Fresno receives yearly funding from the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development to help low and moderate income persons. This funding can be used for affordable housing, homelessness, community services, infrastructure improvements, community facilities, and more. The city has collected feedback from the community using surveys, meetings, and focus groups to help develop a 5-year plan and annual plan.
At our first ten community meetings, we discussed the needs of the community broadly. With the help of members of the community at three follow-up meetings, we discussed the needs that were identified as the most important to receive federal funding. After speaking with residents at these meetings, and getting feedback through surveys and focus groups, we’ve drafted the needs statements for our 5-year plan and annual plan. These statements will inform how federal funds are spent in the City of Fresno over the next five years.
Please join us at one of the upcoming meetings to learn what this could mean for your community, to provide feedback on our priorities, and to learn how you can get involved in the planning process.
