GOP efforts to undermine the Census [photo included]

It’s sad to see what the GOP is doing to turn the Census into a partisan mess.

As if trying to add the citizenship question wasn’t enough, the GOP is now engaging in outright confusion: 

In recent months, the Republican Party has mailed a misleading “Census document” to people in California and across the country. The envelope reads, “DO NOT DESTROY: OFFICIAL DOCUMENT,” and inside is a survey that’s labeled as a Census: 

This isn’t the 2020 Census. It’s a GOP fundraising attempt. With its misleading word choice and styling, it could leave some to think they are being counted.

Once completed, the Republican National Committee even has the audacity to ask the respondent for $15 to “help pay for the cost of processing my census document.” Shameful.

Xavier is fighting the citizenship question in court. And we’re days away from the Supreme Court making a ruling on this issue, but no matter the Court’s ruling, it appears the GOP is already engaging in other efforts that could undermine the Census. Let’s take a stand.
