Happy New Year!!
This has been a very busy year for District 1 and I would like to share all the wonderful accomplishments that have taken place. I am also excited to report that this New Year I was appointed as Vice President of the Fresno City Council and Vice Chair of the Successor Agency to the Redevelopment Agency.
Over the last year, I have continued to be the eyes and ears of my constituents, serving on several boards and commissions. I serve by City Council appointment as Chair of the Enterprise Capital Projects Oversight Board, the Sub-Committee on Transportation, and also as an Executive Board member of Fresno Community Development Financial Institution a subsidiary of the Economic Opportunities Commission.
To ensure the City of Fresno is represented at the state level in the policy making process I am involved with the League of California Cities’ South San Joaquin Valley Division and Latino Caucus Executive Boards. And, was recently appointed as the 2017 Vice Chair to the League of Cities’ Transportation, Public Works and Communications Policy Committee.
Our District 1 Team will continue to listen to our residents’ concerns and work tirelessly to build healthy and safe neighborhoods, support our local businesses and tackle the many issues facing our city. Below find some highlights of the year!
