BERNIE SANDERS FOR PRESIDENT – FRESNO COUNTY EVENTS UPDATE

The Fresno For Bernie campaign is in high gear and multiple activities are happening every week across the county. On May 1, Delegate Caucuses across all Fresno Congressional Districts elected the required number of delegates who are ready to go to Philadelphia to vote for Bernie.

Bernie national campaign staff Eron Lira is now based in Fresno and is busy training Team Captains for Precinct, Canvassing and Phone Banking teams. Luis Ojeda is leading all outreach efforts and coordinating volunteers. Contact him at luisohheyduh@gmail.com or text 559-223-1192 to volunteer. Also, join the webinar at http://myaccount.maestroconference.com/conference/register/RFOYA8LG2JT855TK.

The Bernie Light Brigade is coordinated by Bev Fitzpatrick, Eddie Sanchez and Emy Mendonea. To join their fun group holding lighted signs and waving at major intersections, text Bev at 559-355-9717.

Neighborhood Rallies are being held regularly. Simone Cranston-Rhodes and Luis Ojeda are Rally organizers. If you want to conduct a rally in your neighborhood please text Luis (559-223-1192) or Simone (559-978-4504). Nearly 500 people joined the Tower District Rally, and over a hundred marched from Bullard to River Park.

Join the March for Bernie at the Fresno Rainbow Pride Parade on June 4. For details and to RSVP go to: https://go.berniesanders.com/page/event/detail/volunteeractivityormeetings/44z7g, or via Facebook https://www.facebook.com/events/105390776530634/, where 145 have already registered.

To receive Fresno For Bernie newsletters from Chip Ashley please send an email to Fresno4Bernie2016@gmail.com.

Finally, remember that to vote in the Democratic Primary you need to be registered as a “Democrat” or have “No Party Preference”. ALERT: Ensure that you did not accidentally register with the American Independent Party thinking you registered as an “independent.” It is a conservative party and you will not receive the Democratic Primary ballot if you are registered there. The deadline to change or register to vote in the California Democratic Primary is Monday, May 23, 2016. Contact the County Registrar of Voters at: http://www.co.fresno.ca.us/Departments.aspx?id=144.
