CDP Weekly Update – January 26, 2018
It’s been another productive week for the CDP. See below for a recap of this week’s activities!
Pre-Endorsing Conferences This Weekend
The CDP Pre-Endorsing Conferences for Assembly, Senate and Congress are this weekend. All members of the DSCC are eligible to vote. The CDP endorsement page has a look-up tool for you to find the Pre-Endorsing Conference(s) that you are eligible to vote in. This is the first step in the CDP Endorsement process – don’t miss your chance to help decide which candidates will earn our Party’s endorsement.
Convention Update
We are now less than one month away from the 2018 California Democrats State Convention. Stay tuned in the next few weeks as we rollout some exciting new programming concepts and speakers.
We’ll also be announcing some brand new changes to make Convention safer, less expensive and more engaging for our Delegates and Grassroots Activists. This is going to be a memorable and exciting convention, and we’re looking forward to seeing you in San Diego.

Democrats Must Stand Up For Dreamers
Earlier this week, when Democrats in the US Senate voted to reopen the federal government despite not getting ironclad protections for Dreamers, CDP Vice Chair Daraka Larimore-Hall called on Grassroots Democrats to contact Senate Minority Leader Chuck Schumer and ask Senate Democrats to do the right thing, live up to their obligations and their promises, and protect Dreamers as part of any agreement to fund the government past February 08, 2018.
Over the last few days, news reports have made it clear that we have a lot of work to do to make sure Congressional Democrats do the right thing and protect Dreamers. House Democratic Leader Nancy Pelosi has been forceful in insisting that Democrats hold fast on this fundamental issue. Our two US Senators – Dianne Feinstein and Kamala Harris – spoke out and voted against the deal negotiated in the Senate. They need our help to keep up the pressure and make sure Congress does its job.
Please take a moment and send House Democratic Leader Nancy Pelosi a note thanking her for her principled leadership on this fundamental issue.
And please take a moment to call your Representative and ask that they stand up for Dreamers as part of any budget agreement.
