As communications director for this campaign, it’s my job to make sure people hear just how great Amy’s message is. You’ve probably seen the Washington Post call her “Trump’s worst nightmare” and the New York Times say she was one of the “stars of the night” after the first debate.
Now a new piece from the Washington Monthly reports that “Amy Klobuchar may have the best chance [of all the Democratic candidates] of beating Donald Trump.”
Here’s the deal: Democrats’ number one priority must be to get Trump out of office. And Amy is the best person to get it done — no question.
She knows how to win tough races. She knows how to win in the Heartland and even in places Trump carried overwhelmingly. As the Washington Monthly wrote, “[Amy] has won a majority of counties in every election, including winning counties that Trump won by over twenty points.”
On top of all that, Amy is “experienced, knowledgeable and effective” and “can match Trump zinger for zinger while doing something he cannot — convincing most Americans that she actually cares about them.”
