A little behind where we need to be — can you chip in to help close the gap?

On Team Warren, we love having a plan.

Elizabeth has a plan to make Washington work for everyone, not just the wealthy and well-connected.

And we have a plan to make it happen: Keep growing our grassroots movement.

The next step: Hitting our fundraising goal before the end of June. That’s the next FEC reporting deadline — a chance for everyone to see how much we’ve raised and how many people have chipped in to own a piece of our movement.

But we looked at the numbers, and we’re a little behind where we need to be. We’ve got to hit this goal to keep our ideas for big, structural change front and center in this race.

We only ask when it really matters, and this is one of those moments: Will you make your first donation right now to help close the gap? $3 would make a real difference.

Every day, we keep an eye on whether we’re still on track to hit the goals we set for major deadlines like June 30. And we’ll need an increase in the next couple of days to get back on track.

But here’s what we’re not going to do:

Elizabeth isn’t going to fly from coast to coast to host a spree of swanky fundraising events, where you can only get in, meet her, and tell her what’s on your mind if you can write a big fat check. She doesn’t host any events like that — every supporter gets equal access.

We won’t dial up deep-pocketed donors. We won’t take a dime from any federal lobbyists, corporate PACs, or PACs of any kind. And we won’t butter up any billionaires who could make up the difference by running a Super PAC.

Instead, here’s the plan: We keep building this movement side by side.

Grassroots donors are the only people who power this campaign, and this is one of the moments when we need all hands on deck.
