A disturbing pattern is emerging in Washington: when someone tries to speak truth to power or hold government officials accountable, they are silenced or outright attacked for doing their jobs.
It happened to my friend Elizabeth Warren when she read a letter from Coretta Scott King objecting to Jeff Sessions’ nomination as Attorney General.
It happened to Claire McCaskill last week when she called out the Republicans for keeping their health care plan a secret.
And it’s happened to me twice this month, when I’ve attempted to question Rod Rosenstein and a “very nervous” Jeff Sessions on the Russian investigation.
It’s an attempt to shut us down, but it won’t work. The women of the Senate will not be silenced when seeking the truth. We will continue to fight back and do our jobs, and we’re going to need your support to keep up the fight.
With your support, I’ll never stop asking the tough questions and pressing for the truth. Not now, not ever. And I know you won’t either.
Thanks for everything you do.

U.S. Senator, California
